Rise Above
Imagine the people!
What had they done?
With sadness or depression,
Once someone’s son,
So innocent the child,
Now sadness of eye,
Did life deal them that hand?
Then left in the sand?
Just like a card,
Fallen or starved,
Who let them down?
Backed into the wall,
No hope to recall,
Who could help rise above?
Where was the love?
When life’s in the grave?
Who could’ve saved?
Who are the brave?
Can we hold out our hand?
Can we really understand?
What if it’s you?
Or the person you knew,
What would you do?
Could you raise them above?
Hold out your love.
