Ripples

Her fingers ran through my soul Making ripples through my being The ripples have taken their toll Though they will never be seen Ripples like creased silken glass Echoing like horns of brass Go gliding through the darkness Passing by all remarkless Ripples that change all they touch Things so small and not too much Changed in gentle subtle ways Affecting me for all my days Now she’s taken her hand away I miss those ripples everyday The waters of my soul are still But they can never over spill The changes made will always be Those fateful ripples adapted me From when her hand first touched the pool My secret heart fell under her rule No longer the same as I used to be Now many more branches to my tree I’ve grown and changed out of sight Striving once more to for the light But my roots drink from that inky pool Where ripples were formed by her so cruel So ever will I be poison from within Ever reminded of my true loves sin
