Ripple In My Reality

The pond ripples creating a distortion of my reflections,
The hopes that lie in that reflection are distorted.
Everything that I struggled for ended in vain,
All the love that I pursued ended in pain.
How can I be ambitious when I have no success to stand on,
How can I lift myself up when there is nothing to grasp.
Hope seems meaningless when it lies in a reflection.
The feeling of having lost both reality and fantasy
To wake up from a pleasant dream but stay captured in a nightmare
One cannot feel the winner's sensation.
The sting of a loser has been known too well.
Time has been rude to my pattern and has shredded my threads.
This cannot continue as my result.

Another week has come and gone and I haven't been able to read as much this week as I had wanted. I am glad I was able to read your poetry today Kendal. Keep your pen scrolling don't let the ink dry up. I hope you have a wonderful weekend of sunshine and joy and find lots of inspiration along the way. Love, Carol
