Right From the Start

She is always so willing to accept me, with her unconditional love.
I feel shes been a gift to me, an angel who was sent from above.
Never would she judge me, even at my worst times
Never would she abandon me,she was one of my greatest finds.
I think she was so special, this puppy, with little brown eyes.
This baby I found at the pet shop, this one, so tiny and wise.
She slept in my bed right beside me, her wet nose often touching my skin,
Becoming my best friend was easy, as the earth continued to spin.
As time flew by oh so quickly, we both started turning to gray.
Everyday we set appointments for play,
How I miss these appointments today
She loved me and I could feel it, she loved me right from the start.
And now that shes gone how I miss her.
Her passing has broken my heart.
I now call myself Dutchy's daddy, it's how I'll be known from now on.
I say it quite proudly to all,I'm still Dutchy's dad though she's gone.
I'll always remember her smile, I'll always remember those eyes.
My heart is now broken forever, as I think about her and I cry.
Although I was so lucky find her, to love her with all of my heart.
And she loved me right back
