Right Before the First Time

For five years I’ve had my goal
To find someone and make us both whole
But all that I saw came crumbling down
Just a boy from some suburban town

Now dreams become real, my goal lays before me
Nervousness threatens to take me
Like an injury holding me back from life
Severed from my past with my holy knife

Life’s moving fast and I wonder
Will my past self die?
Or is it gone and will my soul
Ascend into the sky?

Sixteen years and all these dreams are coming true
All these legends spoken with conclusions that we drew
The state of purity is vanishing tonight
These two lovers know what is right.
And I know it’s right.

Tis the first of November and the day is starting out beautiful. The poetry I am reading this morning is very diverse and should make my whole day enjoyable as I read it. Your hearts are overflowing onto your paper and makes such amazing reading. Thank you for sharing your writing with us Derek. Love, Carol
