Riding the Lightning

The thunder splits the dark sky wide open
In the streaks of lightning the clouds glow
An angel falls from abode in high heaven
Frozen fiery channels make a cradle below.

In the desolate ground she searches in vain
The face she fell for and brought the flower
Broken heart held in hand she is uncertain
How fallen angel goes back as lightning rider.
