Riddle of the Cup
Oh, to define the riddle of the cup
that can only bring you luck.
Once more we dally on our pride
and look for comfort we can’t find.
Since the time has measured still,
it leaves you feeling somewhat ill.
The bottom of the lake is dear
to those who never felt the fear.
A widow has come and looked for us
down by the willows, under the sun.
The deep sea roils to winter’s tune
to give us only what we’re due.
Do not come and measure time,
the feeling is not worth the sight.
A rumor whispers of the song
and will not ever lead you wrong.
