Ricky Danced with Anyone
Ricky danced in the rain
without shame.
Who could blame him,
this character, chicken.
Oh the splash he made
with his fame.
Oh the waddle and pain.
his hips and his knees
aching, but with a quack
he made a splash,
and for a little while
he forgot
that a little rain
erased the pain.
So he put on
the ritz -
orange webbed boots
and a yellow
fisherman’s hat.
Anyone danced in the rain
with pomp and circumstance,
splashing full on throttle,
being the fool,
forgetting for a time
the troubles of the mind;
and remembering
that a little rain
never hurt
Anyone.
…and he sang this song:
Nothing wrong with my waddle
All my pain is gone as I dance
My hips and my knees a model
I’ll make a splash as I prance
Forget all your troubles and twist
Do the chicken splash with me
If chair has wheels, use your wrist
full throttle and burn rubber carefree
A little rain, a little trouble - forget
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
A teeter and totter of feet, offset
Splash, splash, with no backlash
Nothing wrong with my waddle
I’ve nothing to lose with a rain dance
Except the pain-in-my-sole toddle
Splash! Splash! Take a chance
