Ben Jonson's four linked rhymed couplet 'To Celia' in 'olde English' with the much mis-quoted second line is perhaps the most famous penned love plea still relevant & pertinent today in this eternal & often misunderstood of everyday relationships
Ben Jonson a bricklayer by trade
poetics then came to his aid
He loved the epigrammatic quatrain
as they did not need to tax his brain
Ben penned a poem of love
a plea for the recovery thereof
He used olde English to make a play
requesting Celia to make his day
