Revanche Poetry - Subtle Revenge

SUBTLE REVENGE
***********
My heart bleeds words of empathy,
An inkwell full of untold woe!
I see poverty causing strife!
Governments abusing power!

From recorded history, rife!
Leaders taking innocent life!

Religion, condoning murder,
Speak our language or you are dead!
For pities sake, humanity,
Why till threatened, then see our wrongs?

Revenge is never an answer,
Taking life does not stop cancer!

For millennia we've fought, killed!
We live a life of hidden lies!
Why do leaders live off, their own,
In luxury, in denial?

Vote them out, a subtle revenge,
Use your vote, accept the challenge!

Tom Cunningham May 23, 2018 at 4:03 AM Well said, hypocritical governments, was reading about piracy and how they used to encourage them to plunder French and Spanish ships and took 10% of the spoils.There was corruption then as is now.
