Return Comment On Gold Fever

Hello to everyone who has read my poem “Gold Fever”

Thank you all so much for taking the time to comment.

I have to admit I was surprised that such an inflammatory poem would be chosen for a
featured write.

And many thanks to those at Poetry Soup for doing so. It only proves something which I
have long believed; that Poetry Soup is the best Poetry site on the net, and a place where
all voices can be heard.

Gold Fever is an attack on the History of the modern church.

Its support of slavery.

Its instigation of “The Inquisition” in which hundreds of thousands of innocents were
tortured and burned alive, men, women and children.

Its deliberate and consistent covering up of the truth in regards to relics it poses such
as The Dead Sea Scrolls.

Its undeniable and luxurious wealth, when so many of its followers are so desperately poor.

Through out history The Modern church has succoured Tyrants and Despots in the hopes it to
would share the political power and control of the populace. Its own History is riddled
with war, blood and muder, all done in the name of God. Its most consistently used weapon
to gain its own diverse ends; has been the fear of eternal damnation.

It is only my view; but I see the spiritual evolvement of the human race stymied by this
Political Institution which merely claims itself as being the representation of God on Earth.

Such arrogance confounds me.

Gold Fever, was not meant to be an attack on any particular belief system of any person.
