Resuscitate Me

Like a horse without a name

A rider on the shore

I pretend to know my way

But how can I be sure

When all around is dark

And the future seems so grey

Using the rear view mirror to

Guide me through each day

With one foot on the ground

And the other hanging limp

I navigate my course

Like a sinking ship

Drowning in the pain

With no one else to blame

My sorrow and my shame

Came crashing down on me

Like a wave upon a rock

With one leg in the past

The other running fast

On wounded knees I stumble

With every step I take

As I struggle to exist

You unfailingly insist

These burdens were never

Meant to bear alone

I choose to have no fear

with a future still unclear

and as I let go………..

You gently take the lead

And in a moments time

Like a renewing of the mind

Your peace and comfort

 Resuscitate me
