Restless

Restless

My eyes are closed, but my mind is awake
I can't seem to sleep; what should I take

Thoughts keep racing through my head.
Restless nights in a sleepless bed

Wondering thoughts short little dreams
Some are pleasant others mean

Sleep is a hopeful dream; it seems pretty clear
No rest at all; that's my fear

Several hours in bed and still no sleep
A good night rest would be a wonderful treat

Wondering thoughts in a wandering mind
Wasting sleep wasting time

The dawn lights break in the window glass
Rolling and tumbling, how long will it last

It seems clear another sleepless night.
Darkness retreating, I can see the light.

Another night wasted I've run out of time
Restless thoughts in a troubled mind.
