Rest

REST

Peaceful resting slumber, carry me away,
take me to a land so beautiful so near.
Breaking down the walls built up for the day,
reaching up to brush a slowly rolling tear.

Nestling in the blankets, tossing in my sleep,
Seeing his face over and over, as I bury him deep.

Deep within my memories, take him far away,
put him in a dark place, where he'll be forced to stay.
