Respect

Twisted Metal, broken mortar
Tears of sorrow, for the dead we honor
Red, white, and blue
These colors fly high, for you and I
True in my heart through my countries eyes
“In God we trust”
I do and I will
For only He knows, beyond the desert hills
Tears and sweat upon my face
For the men we’ve lost within His grace
Home of the brave, land of the free
Where my body, my temple, long to be
And I’ll fight to keep what’s sacred to me
My promise to all whom live to be free
I will always protect, our country for thee
And when I return to this glorious land
I’ll remember the soldiers who held my hand
