Respect

A soldier that served the red, white and Blue
A soldier that served for me and you
A soldier that served so freedom could ring
A soldier's Praise we shall forever sing

This needs to be carved somewhere permanent as a tribute to soldiers of the USA. I wish these sentiments had held true when my Dad returned from Vietnam to receive contempt right after landing on home soil because right, wrong or indifferent, he fought, leaving us for a year. Other than that war these thoughts were/are reflected in American's attitudes. A beautiful poem, Michael! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
