Resilient One

Danced with death at age of five; Her Daddy dead on morning drive; Wrapped his Mustang round old oak tree; She cried, she cried; then she survived: Flirted with demons in her teens; Smoking and drinking most seen memes; Her life in constant overdrive; She strove, she strove; grandiose her dreams: Teetering on edge of control; She met a man who made her whole; They now danced to triumphant tune; As soon she earned a mother’s role; With ambitious undertakings; Fairytale life she was making; Her world was turned upside down; On night their son would not awaken: Second dance with death left her scarred; Wounds so deep; her future they marred; Depression a formidable foe; From joy she felt forever barred: Faith the last weapon she could bare; Sustained by hours and hours of prayers; Like Phoenix rising from the ash; She shunned the valley of despair: On life flew, with great hope renewed; Faster, faster, no time for review; Till cancer came and crashed the bash; Another Devil she’d have to slew: I’ll dance not with thee; death you’re done; The battle engaged; the war won; Love the great force that drove her on; Long live she; the resilient one!
