Rescinded
I wrote once to a nightingale
A hawk tore my song apart
Pledged with a feather, neér to fail
To soothe my broken heart
The talon raw still drips with blood
The foggy lies like feathers flies
Tears make a man only better mud
I hope there is no empty skies.
Snakes are in the ancient nest
Nor egg nor nestling comes again
The song is stone within the breast
A gift of stone I shall not own again
The serpent hisses, the hawk sleeps
I know when a season is truly done
What I gave my honor forever keeps
The serpent winks and smile at the sun
