Requiem For a Shadow
. for public domain
She was no one's great champion,
no foe fell before her fist.
She fought for what was right.
She fought with all her might.
She fell in fateful battle in the midst.
No one came to claim her skin,
her body rotted in the mist.
No soul came in the night.
No prayer found a recite.
No living being felt itself remiss.
This recluse took it on the chin,
for she saw wrong, gave resist.
Do not burn a candle bright.
Do not bring her in the light.
Her living in a shadow was her bliss.
