Repeating Sentiments from her Mommy
We had to divorce daddy the five-year-old said
Her mommy had planted this inside her head
He is uncourtable she announced with sass
What does that mean? I asked the tiny lass
We are angry with him, Mommy and I
A tiny tear slid out of her little left eye
Daddy still loves you, I told her, of course
He got me a dog, she told me, but I wanted a horse
Proving he still loves you, I reiterated
Yes, she smiled. Something to be celebrated.
I turned the conversation to positivity.
She had been through enough, my grand niece Vee.
