Repair Me If You Dare
Repair my tear inside my heart
The moment you broke it apart
Restore grace to my verses of vanity
It’s uncanny you’re not here with me
Repair me (if you care), I’m an unstable chair and a broken table
You clearly don’t care anymore, anymore, anymore
Repair me (if you dare), this nightmare is beyond unbearable
You clearly don’t care and it’s unfair to the core
I swear you should repair my torn soul and heart
Ever since you broke it all apart from the start
I comfort myself in dismay as I hurt myself this shining day
So far, I am numb inside and hardly any pain to tear away
Unfocused and afraid of the darkness that surrounds me so
It’s so unreal and distressful that you left me behind in utter woe
Recognizing that you’re a living nightmare amongst my dreams
Repair me if you even care to do so as I fall at the seams it seems
Killing away the ache inside my heart
The moment you shred me all apart
Restore my peace without strife in mind
It’s uncanny that you and I are so blind
I recall all the times we spent together
Thought you and I were forever, never
Thought you and I would be torn to naught, naught, naught
What have we become? A numb sensation, lost a lot?
We could of have it all in the end
But, you ruined it and it went away
All over again, I need a way to mend
I didn’t mean to see you go today
Disappear with me without a single fear
Tear away the endless sorrow that gives us no glad-so-many tomorrows
Cheer away the feeling of shedding a tear
Repair away the nothing I’ve become and numb away the pain that shows
I’ll know how to show you true today
I care about you the most, doubtless to say, but hey —
I’ll show you a glow your solemn way
I’ll repair you, even if you don’t care for me some say
Repair me (if you care)
Repair me (if you dare)
If you dare to care about my lonely pain,
Share with me your blessed love, my love
You are up in the air, another day of no rain,
You’re a beloved, lovely dove from above
— dedicated and inspired by Johnny Cash’s song entitled “Hurt”
