Renewal

Long gone is the winter snow The grim and gloomy white. Merry peonies up they rise Sunbeams wake them in delight. The calla lilies - which last winter withered Cannot be gotten back. Tis only their tint of scented sweet Which dwadles in spring breeze Bring in with it the memories Of times bittersweet. With new beginnings and past behind The slumbering swallow wakes. And lo - away - away it flies To places far away!
