Remnant Pages

memories rest upon dusty shelves
abundant memories filled selves
browning pages seldom turned
painful lessons often learned

baby pictures and wedding books
routes reflect paths I took
rife with love sealed by prayer
mirrors a life I dared to share

family days last minute trips
fingertips whose pages flip
marvels captured moments saved
courses mapped pathways paved

life reduced to tattered pages
emotions felt with hormone rages
friends and pals freckled faces
around the world to foreign places

moments spent in quiet repose
pages are touched covers close
a sigh released in quiet reflection
knew the past foretold direction

treasured words reduce with age
remnants whisper from a tattered page
