Remembering To Forget

Remembering to forget? Forgetting is not as simple as it seems The damage done is somehow etched too deep, It surfaces each night in vivid dreams Invading hopes of quiet, restful sleep. Those damning words she spat, so full of hate, Untrue but fuelled by hells well trodden path; All thoughts of love destroyed, and so too late, To resurrect a fleeting touch or laugh. Memories no longer have a place, They fade just like an autumns' morning mist, To leave a Celtic demons hellish face, So livid, like depressions fresh cut wrist. Decisions now awake; to live or die? Just leave behind a world you thought would last, For better or for worse?? or live a lie? Or join with those whose earthly pains have past?
