Remembering Our Morning Prayers

We’re up early in the morning,
After saying our rising greetings,
We’re standing closely holding hands,
Asking for help from the big man,
Asking Him to bring us closer,
And that we have a better understanding,
Of each other and to keep us safe each day,
Praying with each other daily,
Was special in every way.
Asking the Father to help us and our relationship,
Saying Amen together to finish it.
Embracing each other afterwards,
Reminded me of my growing up,
How my dad would lead us in prayer,
And sent us to school,
And told us to take care.
You and I standing before God in prayer
Gave me piece of my own family life,
You and I, a family praying together
As husband and wife.
