Remembering Love
A lonely beach, a rising moon
From the horizons edge below
A mournful cry, a passing loon
As crashing ocean waters flow.
Now resting in a seaside chair
And thinking of the years now gone
Oh how I wish that you were here
To stay with me until the dawn.
To hold my hand, not say a word
Let the peace of night draw near
Some memories are never blurred
When in the dark I called you dear.
My feelings for you are not lost
When once we spent our nights as one
For a while our paths were crossed
A gentle kiss, our love begun.
Now in my final years I dream
Once more your face I’ll see again
In heaven your sweet smile will beam
With all the love we shared back then.
