Remember Me Not

Remember me not as my picture shows
Sharing instead my poems no one else knows
Remember me not by my gentle smile
It's not what made my life worthwhile
Remember me not by my life exposed
Instead by memories my words imposed
Remember me not by projects left undone
Busy changing the life of someone
Remember me not by looking for my faults
Instead that my songs made a broken heart waltz
Remember me not of my accomplishments
Your love is my greatest of compliments
Remember me not of those nights I cried
For those were days that I really tried
Remember me not of those times we fought
Respect is solace sought
Remember me not as any other
To all the world I was a mother
Remember me not as a Legend my friend
Legacy of a Poet lives within
