Remember Me

Remember me?
Shivering in the corner,
Afraid of your fists and rants
Hoping your mood would swing quickly
Wishing I could run,knowing I can't.
    Remember me?
Hiding in my bed at night
Deep under the sheets,not breathing
Praying he won't come for me tonight
Nasty words mixed with rage,seething
    Remember me?
Bearing the brunt of your rage
When I told you he touched me there
Innocent,I told you all of it,ashamed
Then you slammed me back in my cage
    Remember me?
Running, running as fast as I could
Looking for some sort of safety
I'd find it,I knew,if it only would
Reach out and gently embrace me
    Remember me?
Looking down at you, withered and dying
I reach within me to find some love
For this "mother" that left me crying
Finding none,I turn away
When the darkness creeps over you
Ask your God for forgiveness as I can't
Forgive what you've it m through
Rest well sweet Mother and.....
           Remember me.

My mind swam with emotion as I read each word. Some things in life some heartaches in life do not heal. The scars I have wounded us so deeply and life never truly fade. You are a strong woman. I saw strength in every word you wrote.I saw your heart. There is truth. There is life.Kelly your heart your soul is deeply wounded. But the truth and Light to be found in the New Testament can Heal and will Heal every wound in your soul. If you ever find yourself in a place that you need a smile see my poetry

I was torn between feeling pleased that you felt my work, and saddened that you felt my work. No person wants to make another feel pain and anguish... unless, of course... they're us. Thank you for the wonderful feedback.

Kelley, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
