Remember, December
Cold, cold nights before the fire
Dressed in winter’s bright attire
I watch the Yule log burning strong
Burning still the whole night long
I think of joy, I think of love
I think of Him who watches from above
I think of joy, I think of praise
I think of Him who rights our crooked ways
Oh, do you remember
Dear heart of December
What blessed day you hold?
What gifts you bear
Like wise men there
Was frankincense and gold
Gazing out at yonder star
I hear the carols from afar
Warmed within and warmed without
Filled with hope that clears all doubt
I feel the joy, I feel the love
I feel the blessings He sends us from above
I feel the joy, I feel the cheer
I feel His love throughout the year
Oh, do you remember
Dear heart of December
That single ray of light?
A promise true
It still shines through
The blackest winter’s night
So always remember
That even in December
Good tidings you behold
And the gifts you bear
Will more than compare
With frankincense and gold.
