Remember

Remember when you said our love would last forever

Remember when you said our love would grow

Remember when you said we would never part

The love was deep within our hearts

Remember when you said we would grow old

Remember when you said you would never let me go

Remember when our hearts were young

That our love could not be undone

Remember when you broke that vow

Remember when it did not go well

Remember when you said we were through

Our love could not last forever

Remember when I had cried

Remember when I felt I had died

Remember what terrible words you said

When you were already in someone else's bed

Remember now

Remember then

Remember how it must end

If you take out the lines with remember there is also an inner poem that works on it's own. This is a timely piece. Thank you for sharing it and for your kind comments on my poetry. Keep on writing.
