Remember

Never let it become a blur. Always remember the kid that you were And never stop feeling the thrill Of somewhere inside you being a kid still. By: Carole O'Terry Duet Copyright: Aug., 2018 "All Rights Reserved"

I am child-like, not childish, and there is such a difference; I praise the powers of my imagination that we can remember being a real child.

Thanks, Richard. I think most poets/artists are fortunate in that we retain that little piece of childhood within us somewhere...regardless of the pressure to "grow up". Carole Duet :D

Just saw your comment to me down here finally. I disagree that all artists have a kid inside them. Some can be pretty serious!!! haha

That's true, Andrea, but I think the best artists always retain some part of their youth and look at the world in a special way even if it's sad or mad! lol Thanks for reading and commenting. Carole :D

Short but lovely and expressive, Carole. It's important to keep our feet on the ground, and remembering where we set off from. The inner child will always be there, waiting for a chance to be given some free rein:) ~ Warm regards // paul

I couldn't agree more! Everyone's child is still very much within them, said me, based on my own inner-child! A great gem of wisdom. The best days are those when our 'child' is allowed to play - those are memory making days. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Yes, that "inner child" is probably the most honest part of us all. Thanks for your very sweet comment, CayCay. Carole :D

Lol....me too, Andrea, but they say that all artists do that. Carole :D

Carole, the true gift of an artist is pulling out the greatest parts of the child within. You have shown the way here....

That is so true, Caren. There is a child within us all and to me that is usually the best part of a person. Imagine if in heaven we all became innocent children again without the scars of life. Anyway, thank you so much for your comment on "Remember". Did you read "Through the Eyes of a Child" which "Remember" was taken from? Carole :D

The child within is usually there to stay, Carole...maybe wiser, but forever young at heart. ~ Warm regards // paul

Hi Charles! Thank you for commenting on "Remember". Yes, I'm "a kid (and a woman) at heart". I bet you are too (except for the woman part...lol). Carole :D

I think that kid is always inside us. We grow around the kid, put things in perspective if we are wise. Yes, most should embrace but some had a terrible childhood but perhaps can gleam some good memories.
