Remeber Me With Sounds

I loved the sound of the trees, as the winds went gusting through,
The roar that bellowed from the forest, oh how it blew!

I loved the sound of silence, as snow came floating down,
Like feathers of white and each unique, oh how it covered the town!

I loved the sound of water, as it crashed and poured and gushed,
The waves, the splash, the rain and wet, oh how the people rushed!

I loved the sound of leaves, a rustle then a crunch,
From green to brown, from young to old, oh how they fell a bunch!

I loved the sound of storms, the thunder was the best,
The crashes and booms to make you shake, oh how my heart jumped from my chest!

But now I'm just a memory, these sounds you do not hear,
Dying too young creating your pain, oh how I miss the cheer!

I loved the sound of earth, the ways of life each day,
It's time to be joyful for the love I had, oh how I know you'll pray!

Let my love of natures noise go on, because before I left I wrote,
Just remember to take the time to listen, to these sounds like a music note!

I was born and still live in North Carolina. I mostly love to write in the genre of plain and simple rhyming. I like my poems to flow so it brings my message, whatever it is, together nicely. I also like to write haiku's and ABC poems, and some of those rhyme as well, but if I was more familiar with other sorts of genre's I think that I would try those too.

Shreya, I'm really glad you enjoyed my poem and am so grateful you chose my poem for your competition! Well, I've always enjoyed writing, but it hasn't been long because I'm only in high school. I actually can't remember wen I started loving to write poems but I do remember the nights I was supposed to be asleep but was so restless I had to get up and go write one of my topics for a poem! It might sound weird, but most of my poems weren't even based on my life but what I see around me and other people's lives. Sometimes I would just write and feel like a complete different person writing things I hadn't even experienced, but I think they turned out pretty true and relatable.
