Relinquished Pride

I stand high on the podium today Reciting my memoires clearly I say I remember the times you mocked my walk The days you turned your back and talked Today I see you all look up at me Listening to my speech so intently Each guffaw is so suddenly silenced Each sneer so speedily disappeared I see admiration in each tearfilled eye today But still I recall my pitied pleas echo away

Hi Fathima, sometimes the very ones that gave us a hard time in life is the very same ones that have to bow down to you in a manner of speaking if you know what I mean, I am a firm believer in that what goes around comes back around, very nicely written, take care D-nyce

So much pride here despite the title, and good for you. Yes, people can be so cruel.Something I will never understand. Only know it is a terrible flaw within them, and truly has nothing to do with you. Take that pride back, it is yours to own. Love, Shar
