Relentless Time

As time ticks by relentlessly
we look back and wonder
where the hours and days have gone
they seem to have passed in a blink

When young we squander time
not yet understanding it's value
the years stretch out endless
we think nothing of yesterday

Yet as we age it seems to fly
now we take note and savour
each precious second, each memory
filling the pages of life

Age comes to all with the aches and pains
now we can relax and enjoy the hot sun
take time to enjoy simplicity
hoping for it to slow to our pace

But those seconds tick on relentless
time marches on regardless
have we filled the pages wisely?
as it comes time to pass on.

Shadow what a lovely write, you have really hit the nail on the head, time passes so quickly now at our age yet when I was a child it went soooooooo slow I couldn't wait to 18 years of age now all I want to do is get back to 18 LoL, really enjoyed this one. Take care my friend...........Vera.............
