Yes, the geese are actually Canada Geese not Canadian Geese even though we call them Canadian. They have residence in more than one place but they have their young in Canada exceptions are the flock that we have here year round don't know why that don't fly away..Anyone know? Sara

Wonder what is the largest number in flock size. Do geese fly in flocks or just formations?

Enjoyed reading your work. Have you ever thought about how they know where to fly do they use landmarks or is it built in homing given to them at birth? Have you ever thought about what they are honking to each other when they are up there in flight and when they change leaders? Thanks for stopping by my page. Sara

They always fly in a "V" formation. The only ones honking are the lead one and the ones on each end. In this way, they know how far away they are from each other.
