Relationship
A ship, a ship; calling me home.
I’ve searched for years, destined to roam.
The waves rocked her, yet she remained strong.
A steady heart for sure, tending the wrong.
Through battles and fights, through heartbreak and all.
Amongst the starriest nights, she’s overcome my fall.
She’s been through the wild, and the calmest of winds.
Throughout a sea of mild, I’ve made no new friends.
She’s carried me through, the frantic storm above.
Still I’m missing you, the ship that I love.
After time has passed, the negligence was clear.
A greedy hand grasped, longing to steer.
My mind was broken, my thoughts no longer my own.
Ill words were spoken, and no actions shown.
She carried me through, and I left for a place of dark.
Though I still think of you, I’m still left so stark.
My ship, my ship; oh it’s sailing away.
I slip, I slip; and alone I now stay.
Her body still sturdy, but her course now sways.
An ending so dirty, a curse among days.
I’m searching, I’m yearning; for my ship to be held.
I’m perching, I’m learning; for a love to be quelled.
I long for the days, where I’ll be with her again.
Resting on easy sways, a lifelong win.
Dreaming of her, I see in the distance.
I cannot be sure, a sail of persistence.
Oh my ship, my girl; I’m coming for my friend!
I’ve spotted my world, hoping it’s not the end.
My ship, my love; my bright glowing soul.
My angel, my dove; our future my goal.
