Reinvent Me

I walk the path I’ve always walked
but now I set the pace,
I don’t speed up for those ahead
or slow to keep with mates,

I hope to prosper in twenty twenty
take my numb self so empty
make sure I fill up with plenty

I’ve learned wealth is not pound or penny
but what the people have meant to me
the eventual outcome of this year
I just, must adjust and reinvent me
