Refused
I gave to her my heart, but not for a day
It was given freely for all of eternity
Alas, she refused, throwing it back at me
Leaving me with nothing ever to say
My heart bled there in her open palms
Beating incessantly, but to no avail
My lips echoed the pain with a wail
a cry that would not serve to calm
