Refresh
The sights and sounds out on the porch
Refreshes deep within
A stillness and quiet lingers
The birds' song a soft den
Wispy horizonal pastel clouds
Lie frozen against blue
The rising sun has colored each
Their own special hue
There is a touch of the palest purple
Sandy shades like the shore
A pale magenta floats above
Like fabric from the store
The morning star has disappeared
Gone with the rising sun
Birdsong and roosters' crow in sequence
Morn's melodies begun
Just a few minutes longer here
to soak in the morn's peace
Then walk away while night creatures
Nod, slowly go to sleep
The bright sun cracks the horizon
Cast gray upon the clouds
All has changed in a few seconds
Life begins to be loud
