Perhaps you’ve been whale watching. Lovely imagery.

We have. Our son and his family came out on the three day weekend from Chicago to get some sunshine and fresh air! Among other adventures, we went whale watching. Amazing and awe inspiring experience. Thank you viewing the whales with me. Blessings!

I thought it was about time to call in and read another Ms Kauffman poem so here I am. When I first joined The Soup I wasn't won over too much by this form of poetry but examples such as yours here Sam have made me rethink and reflect on my initial thoughts. Your lovely haiku has left me with a sense of calm in much the same way as the whale left that patch of calm water behind on the surface of the ocean. Cheers - Gary

Hi Gary! Thank you so much for your delightful words of compliment and your visit! We had an amazing day on the ocean. The waters were like glass. I am so glad that came through for you in seventeen syllables. Like you when I joined the soup haiku really didn't have a huge appeal for me although I did enjoy reading it. Having worked with the form I have realized how much punch these limited syllables have in creating striking images and reaching deep into the spirit. Sending you blessings of calm! Cheers!
