Reflections on the Year
As another year its shadows cast,
prudence prods, pause, and ponder the past.
The perspectives and wisdom we gain,
will help us face life’s stress and strain.
Because of how this year did trend,
many can’t wait for it to end.
For others, blissful blessing flowed,
Therefore, they hate to see it go.
A bag containing good and bad,
some days made us glad and some sad.
Yet as we look with mature eyes
We know this year has made us wise.
Be thankful for the gift of life,
despite the daily stress and strife.
If you enjoy the gift of health
Give thanks, it’s worth much more than wealth.
The economy is doing good,
and the stock market has strongly stood.
Across our nation there is peace
and we sure hope that wars will cease.
We live in a land where we are free.
To thrive and prosper this is key.
We are free to worship as we please,
and to live in comfort and ease.
Our nation is on a dark path,
that is sure to incur God’s wrath.
By sanctioning what He forbids,
morals have hit the downward skids.
God has kept our nation safe,
despite the things that make us chafe.
Throughout this year, God has been good,
So, let us worship Him as we should.
