Reflections On Mistreatment

Just like you, we've made mistakes
A Brighter Future is what's at stake.
Have you walked a mile in our shoes?
Can you even come close to paying our dues?

You look at us - eyes full of wrath
Though we're now moving forward down life's path
We've done nothing to you - so why be so mean?
By mistreating us - what do you glean?

In your closet what skeletons do you hide?
What confessions to someone do you wish to confide?
Think about these things as more people you meet.
And Help someone overcome their feelings of defeat.

Footnote: While working as a security officer when I lived in Arizona I worked a post where some of the workers gave their patients dirty looks - made snide comments, etc.
