Reflections

What hollow wreck of a man, stands here before me?
His eyes are glazed and empty.
What hollow wreck of a man, stands here before me?
From his gaze all joy doth flee.

A shell of what once was, a husk all dry and dead.
A life vibrant and full
A shell of what once was, a husk all dry and dead.
A life that’s now dull

Like the empty chrysalis, of departed butterfly,
He looks empty and cold
Like the empty chrysalis, of departed butterfly,
He looks so very old

What hollow wreck of a man, stands here before me?
To see I must get nearer
What hollow wreck of a man, stands here before me?
Ah but it is just a mirror.
