Reflections

When I take the time, now, to reflect
And contemplate the things I know,
It appears the years have flowed away
Like rivulets of melting snow.
Not always kind, but always just,
Life's led me on a merry chase.
And when, at last, it takes its toll,
It won't all, I hope, have been a waste.
