Reflection From Within
Her light does not shine, it left her long ago
She is now empty, with insides cold as snow
She looks in the mirror, she recoils in fright
Her ghostly reflection, is a gloomy sight
She cannot believe, what she has now become
Joy it has left her, her insides now are numb
Who can see, the happy façade, that she wears
Is there anyone out there, who truly cares
She believed promises, that were made in vain
Each one that was broken, left her filled with pain
Her light does not shine, it left her long ago
She is now empty, with insides cold as snow
She looks in the mirror, she recoils in fright
Her ghostly reflection, is a gloomy sight
Once she had an inner glow, brilliant it shined
Now all that's left, are the voices in her mind
She hears their insults, from within she does wail
Looking at her face, that is now ghostly pale
Each insult has left, a mark upon her soul
A bruise upon her flesh, dark as blackest coal
Eyes no longer pretty, are now darkened orbs
All of her happiness, the darkness absorbs
Her light does not shine, it left her long ago
She is now empty, with insides cold as snow
She cannot believe, what she has now become
Joy it has left her, her insides now are numb
Happiness is gone, no longer does she thrive
Pale and broken, she no longer feels alive
Her façade is now fading, drifting away
Nothing is left, in the mirror she must stay
In this ornate frame, she hangs upon the wall
Stuck there forever, with the minds whip and maul
Each day appears upon her, a new dark welt
Her essence gone, emotions no longer felt
Her light does not shine, it left her long ago
She is now empty, with insides cold as snow
