Reflection
A creature that will never be revered
Daggers pierce its heart
Love cannot save it from harm
Hate will tear it apart
Truth will not reach it ears
Pain tortures its soul
One day death will take it away
When this life has taken its toll
Hope is a luxury for the chosen.
To remind them of whom they are
A gift long ago torn from this creature
Its heart still bears the scar.
Cast away for a trivial matters
It has stood the test of time
No evil utterance has crossed its lips
Its choices have been sublime
No crime against the innocent
No lie against a friend
No selfish actions towards another
No broken promises to amend.
Never will it again experience trust
Never will it experience peace
Someday it will carry-on.
Someday the pain shall cease.
But until that day finally comes.
Broken dreams is what it shall see
Looking at the reflections of its soul
Reflections that show only me
