Reflecting

Reflecting
By Franklin Price

Reflecting back on all the years
When we both walked on this earth
And the words we said together
That gave we two a single worth

We sealed the deal forever
Vows we took meant everything
When we said the words, “I do”
And we took each other's ring

All the times we shared together
All the friendship, love and trust
And not last, for sure not least
Just the right amount of lust

My heart beat a little faster
When you came into my sight
My desire for you non-ending
Be it day or be it night

I won't say I never looked
But I never messed around
Why would I, when I had the best
With my feet on solid ground

My heart's still beating for you
Though you're looking from above
I still wear the ring you gave me
When we took our vows of love

Save me a place beside you
For I believe in Christ, you see
When I pass, through him, I'll join you
To share our love eternally
