Reflected Sun
REFLECTED SUN
This is a still and darkened room
Always filled with cooling gloom
Tall buildings block each sunny ray
That tries directly here to stray
Through the open window eager
For a sun-diet so meagre.
But every day at nearly seven
The light descends to me from heaven
Those buildings steel and glass and tall
Then pause to reflect me, -well - not all,
But some light for a little while -
Glass then shines, and mirrors smile -
Fills my desk with warmth and glow.
Reminds me that I love it so.
