Redo

Redo
Can you see it down the line?
Did you know it was mine?
Did you for see it all?
Did you stumble or did you fall?

Don't lie to me.
Don't pretend so I'll believe.
I thought you were better than that.
I guess I misread your Army clothes and hat.

Would you care if you had to?
Or would you really want to?
Would you dismiss it like you dismissed my feelings
and the unseen tears I had to hide?
Was that your way of saying you were through?
I bet you'd wish for a redo if you saw the tears I really cried.

Don't lie to me.
Don't pretend so I'll believe.
I thought you were better than that.
I guess I misread your Army clothes and hat.

Honey, you don't love her or I wouldn't matter.
You would have told me before you let this happen.
You would have told me why.
You would have told me when.

Bite your tongue.
Cut off your words.
Aint' a time to tell if anyone's heard.
Ain't a thing to do when someone else gets hurt.

Don't lie to me.
Don't pretend so I'll believe.
I thought you were better than that.
I guess I misread your Army clothes and hat.

You'll be begging for a redo.
Wishing you were wearing someone else's shoes.
You'll be pleading for love again.
Love that was never there because you chose not to care.
You were supposed to be different among men.
It wasn't just me that thought you were a better man.
The sad truth is you never could.
You never can.

Don't lie to me.
Don't pretend so I'll believe.
I thought you were better than that.
I guess I misread your Army clothes and hat.

How many of us have been begging you for a redo?
