Author's note. This piece is pure fiction. But I enjoy writing stories about the power of love. The main character's life was headed for destruction until he was shown unconditional love. I hope you all enjoy.
"My life has not been a bed roses. I come from the streets and every man is for himself. If I
had to lie, cheat ,or steal I would. I would even cut your throat. But all of that changed
when I met the love of my life. Two years ago those words would have never left my mouth. I thought love was a joke and it was for suckas. I thought it was like kryptonite a dam weakness. How the hell can you be the top dogg in the street if you came down with love?
I was a playa through and through my heart was cold as ice and it would have stayed that way until my baby melted my heart with unconditional love. I tried to push her away because I didn't want to be a lil punk and be all in love. But I fell really hard
and my life has never been the same. I left the street life and the hood. I stopped doing illegal things and got me trade as a auto mechanic and me and baby girl live in the suburbs. We got married had two kids and life is good. My baby girl is a angel sent down from heaven just for me. If wasn't for her I would be in jail or dead. Do I miss the old life? No, I wasn't really living I was a dead man walking".

Very raw and honest poem, Alexis. A beautiful testament to love. Ty for sharing such a powerful write like this. I feel the vibe of it because I lived that life before meeting Jesus Christ. So I relate totally. You are a talented story teller. Love always for you. RW

Some people do change...to the better, if they allow themselves to. Love is a good reason for doing so. I enjoyed the narrative, and the ending is great! Regards // paul

What a courageous and admirable confession this is! You have touched my heart to the core dear, Alexis! Yes, love is the greatest healer for it comes from God and it is God. No your heart was not an ice block but a butter cube frozen by human indifference, now that you are redeemed endless the joys of life I wish you to be! A seven!

Hi Demetrios, Thank you for such a kind and encouraging review. However, I must say this is not my personal story, I wanted write a story about the power of love. I appreciate your continued support. TFTS
